WiseGym – product types

How does the logic of gym products work at WiseGym? How to choose the right type of product?

Product cards can be found under product management

Product management can be accessed from the administration side of the system:
→ Sales
→ Products
→ Products

  • The product management listing includes all product cards (i.e., products) entered into the system.

  • Search results can be filtered using the search fields at the top, and column visibility can be adjusted according to company needs via the gear icon.

  • An individual product card opens by clicking on the product name.

  • A new product card can be added by selecting "add product" from the top right corner.

The significance of product card settings

  • The different settings defined for an individual product card in the system guide the overall setup.
    • In addition to standard sales and accounting settings, the product card is also linked to access control ("access right" tab).
    • While product settings can be overridden for an individual contract (specific customer), these settings essentially serve as the basis for all gym sales, as they are purchased in this form from the online store.
  • In a multi-company setup, all companies use the same product catalog, allowing for shared products.
    • Each subsidiary can set its own accounting accounts and cost centers for the product.
  • Customer segmentation (potential customers, members, former members) and the corresponding automated mailing lists are also based on the product's settings.

The settings of an individual product card guide the overall setup, including adding product-related access rights, accounting accounts and customer segmentation. All settings for the product should be configured carefully.

Important!

  • All settings for a product should be carefully checked when creating a new product (or editing an existing one). Updating the accounting account and/or cost center can easily be forgotten.
  • When starting a campaign, it’s essential to first assess whether a separate campaign product should be created (you can always request an opinion on this from WiseNetwork’s customer service).
  • Most "membership"-type products automatically create a contract for the person, regardless of the sales channel through which the product is sold.

Creating a new product card - which product type should I choose?

  • Products created in the system are categorized by product type.
  • The name of a new product is always set immediately (which can be edited later at any time) along with the product type.
  • The choice of product type affects, among other things, the settings/fields visible on the product card and the tabs displayed on the product card.

The purposes of different product types are explained below. The product types used in WiseGym are highlighted in bold.

Product types of product cards

  • Standard: A basic product that can have multiple variants at the same or different prices (e.g., a protein bar with various flavor options)
  • Product Package: A bundle of standard-type products
  • Downloadable: Not used by WiseGym clients
  • Ticket: Entry ticket, not used by WiseGym clients without a separate agreement
  • Offer request: Not used by WiseGym clients
  • Timereservation: A product based on a resource calendar, such as hourly rental for a padel court
  • Membership: A contract-based product for gyms, directly linked to access control (e.g., gym membership card)

  • Paid article: A product linked to a content management system article to create one-time paid content
  • Contract: A contract-based product for gyms that is not linked to access control (e.g., personal training contract)

  • Gift card: An automatic electronic gift card that the purchaser receives digitally and can use in the online store. It handles not only the purchase but also automatically manages the accounting, recognizing sales only when the gift card is used (recorded in the balance sheet account "Gift Card Sales" until then)
